# byChapters™ > byChapters™ is a UK shop for DIY book nook kits and miniature house kits from specialist makers: laser-cut wooden miniature worlds with built-in LED lights that slot between the books on a shelf. Every kit is test-built by the team in England before it is listed, shipped from the UK by Royal Mail Tracked 24, and supported until the build is finished. What a book nook is: a small, lit diorama the size of a hardback that stands upright between books on a bookshelf, often showing a library, shop, alleyway or fantasy scene. Who it's for: adults and teens aged 14+ who enjoy miniatures, model making, reading and calm screen-free hobbies; popular as gifts for book lovers. What's included in a kit: pre-cut 2.5 mm MDF wooden sheets, printed papers, miniature accessories, an LED light set (usually with a touch switch) and a full-colour illustrated manual; many kits also include tweezers and a sanding rod (each product page lists what's in the box). Batteries aren't included. Many kits also need craft glue, which isn't included; each product page's specifications say whether a kit needs it. Typical build time: 2 to 10 hours depending on the kit. Difficulty is rated Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced on each product page. ## Delivery, returns and support - Dispatch: in-stock orders placed before 3pm (UK time), Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays, ship the same day from the UK. - Delivery: Royal Mail Tracked 24, which aims to deliver the next day, Monday to Saturday (not guaranteed). Free on UK orders of £25 or more; £2.99 below that. We also deliver right across Europe (Ireland, all 27 EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and the European microstates; Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man at UK prices): standard tracked delivery in 3–7 working days from £6.95 (free on orders of £100 or more), express courier from £16.95; prices shown to EU customers include local VAT and import duty, with nothing extra to pay on delivery. - Pre-orders: kits marked pre-order can be bought now and dispatch when the stock arrives in the UK; the expected month is shown on each product page. Payment is taken at checkout, and a pre-order can be cancelled for a full refund any time before it ships. - Returns: 60-day returns on unopened kits. - Parts replaced free: missing, faulty, incorrect or delivery-damaged parts, and pieces broken during the first build, are replaced free with postage included and no time limit, subject to availability. Beginner kits take 2 to 4 hours; advanced kits with staircases and multiple floors can take 8 hours or more.
